The momote001 is the first of many steps that will be given until it is completely feasible to the Internet reaches in anything.
The momote001 is build with a CC2650 chip from Texas Instruments CC2650 da Texas Instruments, qwhich is a system-on-a-chip, specially for wireless sensor networks and end-devices. Manufactured with a programmable ARM Cortex M3 (for implementation) it also has two radios that support two of the most common patterns of IoT: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a standard communication pattern through mobile phones, and IEEE802.15.4 devices used for mesh networks, ZigBee, XBee, Thread, 6LoWPAN, etc. It is a ultra low power processor, and therefore, depending on the application, you can feed it directly with 2 alkaline batteries or even with a CR2032 battery.

    The first units are being manufactured and will be available on the first semester of 2016.

    The major part of this item’s costs are taxes (IPI, ICMS, PIS, COFINS, etc.) and therefore we are preparing the necessary documentation in order to reduce the cost in the future.


    Meanwhile, to program the CC2650 chip on momote001, it is is required a cJTAG to program it. For example the CC-DEVPACK-DEBUG, SMARTRF06EBK or CC2650 LaunchPad.

    The official development tools supported by Texas Instruments for this chip are the Code Composer Studio (CCS) and the IAR EWARM. However, it is also possible to use GCC. Texas Instruments also offers a Stack Bluetooth Smart (BLE) and a ZigBee Stack running on TI-RTOS.

    In addition to that, the Energia software will also support this chip from the next version. At the moment, the binaries are not yet available, but you can compile the latest version of Energy manually.

    We are also use the RTOS Contiki-OS that already has support mesh networks (RPL / 6LoWPAN) and CC2650.

    Finally, we are working on an application that will allow the sketches of Arduino / Energia / Wiring to be sent via Bluetooth to momote001, thus enabling the program to be made by any smartphone.
